The Disciples thought the desolation\destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the world were one and the same. Jesus, however, knew they were two separate events. Jesus then created this wonderful tapestry describing BOTH events.
As mentioned previously, there were 2 abominations\sieges of the desolation of Jerusalem. The first attempt, in AD 66, and then a pull-back, and the final in AD 70, where no one escaped. It was the end for almost everyone in Jerusalem.
The same thing is happening here at the end of our time\generation. Ezekiel 8:15, 16 says sun worship will be the greatest abomination at the end. In successive verses in Chapter 8, God showed Ezekiel all the abominations Israel was committing, with the final and greatest abomination in verses 15 and 16:
Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
Ezekiel 8:15,16
This is another example of type meeting anti-type. The final Abomination of Desolation will bring about the very end of time, and will come in 2 waves, just as the prior did.
The first abomination attempt occurred in 1888. It was known as the Blair Sunday Rest bill. Look it up, it’s in the history books. And as at the destruction of Jerusalem when Cestius pulled back, we’ve had a pull-back and the bill was defeated. The Lord has graciously given us TIME. However, when it rises the 2nd time, in the next few years here, there will be no escape.
This is why it’s so critical for us to get out of the big cities now, and not wait for the Sunday Law to show up on the horizon.
Again and again the Lord has instructed that our people are to take their families away from the cities, into the country, where they can raise their own provisions; for in the future the problem of buying and selling will be a very serious one. We should now begin to heed the instruction given us over and over again: Get out of the cities into rural districts, where the houses are not crowded closely together, and where you will be free from the interference of enemies.
