The bible clearly teaches that the dead do not know anything. They’re asleep and just not aware:
For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Ecclesiastes 9:5
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
Job 14:10,21
His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
Psalm 146:4
These things said He: and after that He saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
John 11:11
And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
Mark 5:39
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1 Corinthians 15:51,52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
John 5:28,29
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:5
Did anyone who was raised from the dead in the Bible ever talk about how great Heaven was? No, because they were asleep.
When Jesus returns, we know that the dead in Christ shall rise first. What is the point of Jesus coming back to raise the righteous dead if they’re already in Heaven with him after dying? That doesn’t even make any sense.
