The time period described in Daniel mirrors the time periods described in Revelation. They are all the same event and describe the middle time period of church history.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Daniel 7:25
This verse is describing the anti-Christian power and system put into place beginning in 538 A.D. and ending in 1798.
